The Achievements and Highlights
of the all India solo drive- April 2006-Oct 2006
When I took off on this drive I was confident about three
major things
About my
driving and going to any part of the country with or without
company .
About creating
awareness in a very simple, visual and with some humour in
it.
The only thing I was not sure was how much will be the attendance.and
how the response and openness of the people will be.
Firstly, because nobody in India so far had done an adventure
activity with an awareness mission, in such farflung areas
,specially on cancers.
Secondly, India being an ocean of various religions, communities
, tribals to techno savvies, rural to urban ,I was wondering
about the outlook towards holding awareness camps specially
on Breast cancers and demonstrating breast self examination..
But as the journey progressed my doubts strarted dissolving
and soon I knew that the highways taken by me were on the
right track.
From the adventure angle-
The entire driving was done by me alone, the last 3000km
with no buddy in
the vehicle
30,220 Kms
in 177days (split in 2Legs)
Leg 1 - 04
April 06 to 04 August 06. (Pune-North east-East coast West
coast-Pune)
Leg 2 - 27
August 06 to 20 October 06. (Pune-Rajasthan- Punjab-Himachal
Pradesh- Laddakh-J & K-Kutcch-Gujrat-Pune)
.
